Canon has announced the launch of the Canon EOS 500d dSLR camera with an incredible 15.1 megapixel resolution and full HD video at up to 1080 pixels.

The Canon 500d will hit the shops in May 2009 and features many of the best aspects of the Canon 50d including the DIGIC 4 processor.
